We went on this trip after I planned it. I think it went very well and we had lots of fun. Something I would change or improve next time is where and when we stopped and how much money we spent.

my speech

Amazing weather! Safe living! Little natural disasters! Fun entertainment! What do these things have in common? They are the 4 main ingredients used to make a great city. And what city has all of these traits? Auckland of course! Auckland has nice warm weather, a low crime rate, little natural disasters, and many fun entertainment areas! That is why Auckland is the best city in New Zealand.

First of all their weather is very nice. The average temp is 15.8 degrees. The average yearly rainfall is 1254 mm. So, the weather is fairly warm with nice showers. Not too hot, not too cold. Not too wet not too dry. So, if you have a problem with the weather in your city, then Auckland is the place for you.

The next reason is the safety of Auckland. The crime rate is very low for such a big city. The precent of people who feel unsafe is 48.9, but, the precent of people who feel safe is 51.12. That is pretty good for the biggest city in NZ. Even though the statistics say that Dunedin and Wellington are safer, Auckland is much bigger than they are.

Another reason is the very little natural disasters. There are only minor aftershocks which don't normally affect everyday life. Other than that, there are no other major natural disasters.

The final reason is the great entertainment areas of Auckland. Auckland has 5 main malls and several smaller malls. Auckland also has great tourist attractions. Even though Wellington has more malls, Auckland has many more tourist attractions. Overall, Auckland is the best city in NZ because of its safe and fun environment. It is a great place to live, work and visit.

Recount- deaf person

I walked into class on monday. I looked around the classroom and saw all my "friends" around me. A girl walked up to me with a smile on her face. Her lips moved as if she was saying something. I shrugged my shoulders and walked away. I felt annoyed that I couldn't hear her. That is because i have been deaf since I was born.

I immediatly went and sat down at my spot on the mat and looked up at my teacher Ms. Garcia. She had just finished calling the roll and sat down to start teaching the lesson. She didn't even notice that I was there. She never notices me. I wish I was normal,I wish I wasn't there. Anger grew inside me, I wanted to yell, but, I didn't. Instead I just sat there. Invisible.

At lunch, I sat outside eating. A group of girls from my class came up to me and started pointing talking and laughing. I didn't hear what they said but I knew it was mean. Tears rolled down my cheeks and suddenly I wished I was gone, I wished I could hear what they were saying.

After lunch we had a assembly. I sat down quietly. Soon, the certificates were being called. I saw a teacher call out a name, then nothing happened. Everyone started laughing, then, they all turned around and looked at me! My face went red. I got up and ran out of the hall. It was so embarassing! I sat behind a table until assembly was done. Then, I walked back to my class room.

As I walked in, I noticed a new girl and her family talking to Ms. Garcia. The girl turned around, I waved. Surprisingly, she signed hi! I signed hi back and she said she was deaf too. I was so relieved! Miss Garcia called both of us up to the front. We spent the rest of the day teaching the class sign language. I felt so glad to finally have a friend!

My 2nd commentary

http://audioboos.fm/boos/1624699

I have improved on describing the event as it happens.

Create Project Reflection

Chloe and I made a dress out of new world plastic bags and a white trash bag.
It adds value because it is wearable and stylish and people will want to wear it.
We made it for someone to wear whenever

Reduce Reuse and Recycle Reflection

My goal was to put the right things in each bin.
I chose this because when we went to the eco sort i learned that alot of people dont put the right things in each bin and it is very hard to separate it.
For this goal i reminded my family to put the rubbish in the red bin the recycling in the yellow bin and the organics in the green bin.
I do not have a next step

Reading Reflection

WALT: Idenify language differences between objective and subjective texts
I think i am at relational because i can identify several examples of facts and/or opinions and i can give reasons why.
My next step is to be able to give the authors overall purpose of the text
I have found this learning challenging because i have to think very hard to do this and spend alot of time on it.

Walt: Calculate Perimiter, Area, and Volume of a circle
I think I am at extended abstract because chloe and I have created this show me to teach someone how to find perimiter and area of a circle using diameter and radius

Eco News

WALT: I can sequence the life of a recyclable object.
I think I am at extended abstract because I ordered the stages of reusing/recycling and I can explain why and I can summarise the process of plastic turning into wool.

My maths

WALT: model and solve linear equations
^^^^^^^
If x= 2 and y= 3 find 3x+2y
First you have to find 3x so you multiply x(2) times 3 and you get six.
Then you have to find 2y so you multiply y(3) times 2 and you get six again.
The all you have to do is add up six and six and you get then answer.
________________________________________________________________________________________
I think I am at extended abstract because I created a blog post that can help someone learn about modelling and solving linear equations.

Friends Poem

Rain is the lie I believed that broke away the chain of trust
Then the storm came and carried away the love
But friends are like stars, they come and go
And I guess its your time to leave
And someone elses time to shine

I am extended abstract because i used personification, metaphor and similie and adapted them to my poem

My poem

Upset is tons of filthy rubbish in the beautiful ocean. Unhappy is the beautiful sea life dying before our eyes. Horrified is that many harmless sea animals died because of our rubbish. Ashamed is being the makers of the disgusting rubbish. Do you even care?

My commentary

http://audioboo.fm/boos/1555658

Here is my commentary on animals acting as humans.

The speaking strategies i used effectively where speaking clearly and describing what happened.

I have improved on using clear speaking.

A next step for me is speaking with expression.

Passion project

I am working on my project with Natasha and Isabella. We are studying pythons rainbow lorikeets and bottle nosed dolphins. We chose to do this because we want to learn about different animals. We know we are done when we have met the success criteria. Criteria: - Pre structural: I need help to analyse a pythons ecosystem. - uni structural: I can analyse one relevant idea about th pythons ecosystem. - multi structural: I can analyse several relevant ideas about the pythons ecosystem. - relational: I can analyse several relevant ideas about the pythons ecosystem and explain what would happen if a member of the food chain was missing. - extended abstract: I can analyse the purpose of the food chain groups in the koalas ecosystem.

maths video

I am at tended abstract because i created this video to teach others about finding a slope.
